Exactly a year after his first quest in Prague, the six harlequin-dressed youngsters are called back from six corners of the world — Barcelona, Shanghai, Pretoria, Mumbai, Beirut, and Boston — and drawn together again beneath the Torre dell'Orologio, where two bronze Shepherd-Moors strike the hours over a city of wizards, enchanters, witches, conjurers, and one mean-spirited gnome whose illusions rule the canals. Guided once more by the old clock and by Buggie, their tiny clockwork companion, the six harlequins must master the human virtues of Perseverance and Grit, Loyalty, and Forgiveness — and face down the human flaws of Holding, Grudges, and Betrayal — through Venice's wicked streets and channels, wary always of the Gondoliers. Only then do they earn the crossing of the basin to the mysterious church of San Giorgio Maggiore, and the right to become young wizards. The Orloj of Venice is a magical tale filled with non-stop action and thrills, as well as timeless wisdom through its unforgettable fables and poems.

“..Even older readers will find The Orloj... an imaginative rendering—one that should appeal to anyone who enjoys following a creative quest of young wannabe wizards, intertwined with core life lessons..”
Blueink Review

Erasmus Cromwell-Smith II is an American writer, playwright, and poet.
